Applicants do not have to be native speakers of English to apply for English For Teaching - TESOL (TKT), but must have an excellent all-round command of English. If applicants have a valid IELTS score of 5.0 overall with no less than 5.0 in the Writing band, they will receive a full offer of place in the programme. The IELTS test result must be no more than a year old from the programme commencement date.
If applicants haven’t got an IELTS test result to apply, they may have the option of taking the ELA Online level test. A direct link will be provided on the webpage for easy access.
For applicants who have met the level to proceed, they will be required to contact the Course Coordinator by email which will be provided on the Online Level Test result message. The Course Coordinator will send out an application form together with further instructions and a Writing test, which should be hand written and scanned for submission.
All applicants will take a placement test at the ELA prior to commencement as part of the orientation programme. Please note that this course can only be offered if there is a minimum number of applicants.
